Running on Treadmill – Dec 22,2008

After a one week hiatus in the cardio workout, I went to the gym today to do some running on the treadmill since it was freezing outside. I wanted to do 6 miles on the treadmill since that was the original recovery plan mileage to do on Saturday after the marathon. I ran at an easy pace for the first 3 minutes, then picked up pace to run at 7.3 miles/hour for 32 minutes. I managed to finish 4 miles in 35 minutes. I took a break for about 2 minutes and started again to finish 2.25 miles in 25 minutes. I took 60 minutes to finish 6.25 miles for a speed of about 9 min 35 sec per mile and burned about 700 calories.
